I was 18 after completing 18 months with the Junior Leaders Regiment RE and did a tour based at with 48/51 airfield Sqn in 1977/1978 at Castle Dillon, Enniskilen, Dungannon, Aldergrove, Belfast, Crossmaglen, and various other places during the 39 Engineer Regiments reshuffle,, approx 11 incidents on average per 24 hour day at the time, buried one of our Sqn (another recent ex JLRRE (19) Paddy Vance) in Belfast Cemetery during my tour. My grandfather was shot in his shoulder in 1916 he was of the London Scottish Territorials, lived to tell the tale, I'm massively impressed with him to this day, Im so proud to be Scottish on both sides, going way back, love my Colquhoun tartan.

It tears me up every time I think of all the men and women who have served and do serve our great British country. The best of people serving in war zones, experiencing all that war brings them (many laying down their lives), and then coming home and having to adjust and decompress. Heartfelt blessings to them all. May they be honoured and supported in all the ways they need. We must look after them!🇬🇧🫂💙\

Royal Marines - people you want on your side, they are not to be trifled with 💪🏻❤

Former US Marine here, had the privilege to serve next to a few of these men in 2003 Iraq. Upon first contact their was some... let's call it friendly competition, over who the real Marines were. In a few short hours we fought everything from the enemy to boredom together. We were just distant cousins and I cherish my time with them.

Any man or woman who has served our country are heroes and heroines and deserve the Best the country can give and no one should be given the title of lord or lady without at least serving in the services.Instead benefit cheating politicians take everything they can have for free while giving cronies passes and backhander jobs,while our true heroes sleep on the streets.WE NEED A SCOURGE IN PARLIAMENT.
